Over two thousand years ago,
a woman named Chang'e swallowed an immortality elixir,
ascended to the Moon,
and live in the Moon Palace forever.
In the earliest version, her story expressed the ancient aspiration for immortality.
Later, people pairing her with a husband -- Yi, who rewarded the elixir by shot down 9 out of 10 suns and saved the Earth.
Chang'e stole the elixer from him, swallowed it alone, and flew to the moon, stays in there ever since accompanied by a jade rabbit.
Since her discovery during our first mission to the far side of the Moon, she has remained preserved within our moon station, safeguarded for future generations.
Chang'e's journey was humanity's first success of reaching for something beyond ourselves.
